Black News feature 7th Annual Detroit Doll Show


The Largest Black Doll Show of its Kind will be held on November 10, 2018

---This year’s Show will include one of Marvel Studios Black Panther Cast Members and provide a full day of Fun and Empowerment for the Entire Family!
                                                                       
Detroit, MI -- Sandy’s Land LLC is an entertainment service where the mission is to “Party with a Purpose” and it will be celebrating its 7th Detroit Doll Show with a unique program geared toward the entire family on Saturday, November 10, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the DoubleTree By Hilton, 5801 Southfield FWY, Detroit MI 48228 (near Ford Road).



The Detroit Doll Show is a Black Doll Show that will include doll artists from around the globe, figurines, action figures, a game room, face painting, doll look-alike contest, hands-on workshops, arts & crafts, door prizes; a panel discussion, “Re-Define your BEaUty!” featuring local celebrities: Ettaflyy Espy, Co-Founder of Naturally Flyy Detroit and Co-Owner of Sweet Potato Sensations; Carole Gist, the First Black Miss USA; AJ Williams, Editor of the City.Life.Style at the Michigan Chronicle; Yvelette Stines, Author and Journalist; and Canadian Artist Cee Robinson, Actress, Activist and Doll Artist.

Featured guest is Janeshia Adams-Ginyard, Marvel Studios Black Panther Dora Milaje and Danai Gurira Stunt Double. Ms. Adams-Ginyard is an Actress and a Professional Stunt Woman whose television and film credits include: Godzilla Sequel, AVENGERS: Infinity War, Black Panther, When We Rise, FLIGHT 42, Mrs. Washington, Hawaii Five-o, True Blood, NCIS:LA, American Horror Story I &II, Teen Wolf and 9-1-1 just to name a few.

The Detroit Doll Show is coined as “the largest of its kind in the Midwest,” because it caters to African American children, women and collectors with an emphasis on honoring black heritage. The Detroit Doll Show mission is to celebrate history, culture, beauty and self love with dolls of color. It has been featured in the Michigan Citizen, The Detroit News, BLAC Magazine, The HUB Detroit, Metro Parent, American Black Journal/PBS, Rhythm and Praise with Dr. Deborah Smith Pollard on Mix 92.3 FM WMXD, “Small Talk with Mark Lee on WXYT 1270, Black Doll Collecting and Dolls Magazine.

The event draws in over 1300 attendees and the goal for 2018 is 5000. Dell Sanders stated from 2017, “Another successful show! I’m so glad I was able to attend this year and to gift tickets to some first timers. I overheard several attendees say how well the show compliments and represents us and they were so right and there was a sea of happy smiling little faces to prove it.”

Their motto is "Love the Skin You're In" and "Image is Everything" because it’s healthy for a child’s self esteem to play with a doll that reflect their image and empowering for collectors.
